About Us

As in life, what sometimes starts as one thing can often change direction and become something else. So too with this website.

I was born in South Africa in the beautiful city of Cape Town. At age seven my parents emigrated to the U.K. We lived for one year in the north of England, near Durham, before moving to Edinburgh, Scotland.

At age twenty I decided to leave Scotland to travel and discover other countries, peoples, languages, and cultures. I spent close to 10 years living and traveling in different places.

In some ways, you could say traveling is in my blood. Even now, as a settled down father of two boys and a high maintenance cat I still long to be on the road. But, as they say, reality bites and now all I can do is share my ideas, dreams, and experiences with whomsoever chooses to visit this website and read the articles here.

I hope you find this website useful, interesting, or just whatever you take it to be. My experiences are personal. I do not claim to speak for others or to know the best way to do things, the best places to go.

Travel is a very personal experience and each one of us builds our own memories, our own ideas.
